At Huisartsenpraktijk Cityhuisarts Homa, we are proud of our role as a training practice. This means that we train young doctors, also known as
co-assistents, supervised during their training as general practitioners.
What are co-assistants?
Co-assistants are medical students who are in the final stage of their studies and gain practical experience under supervision
from experienced doctors. During their internship they may, for example:
Walk-in consultations
Patients under supervision to investigate
Participating in conversations and treatment plans
Learning how a general practitioner combines a holistic view of the patient with medical knowledge
They always work under the supervision of an experienced GP, so your care and safety are fully guaranteed.
Why Training Matters
Training junior doctors is of societal importance. By passing on knowledge and experience to the next generation
doctors we take care of:
Well-trained GPs ready for the future
Continuity and innovation in healthcare
Broadening knowledge within our practice and a fresh perspective on healthcare.
COLLABORATION WITH MAASTRICHT UNIVERSITY
Our practice works closely with Maastricht University, which places medical students with us for their clinical rotations. This offers students the opportunity to
to gain practical experience in a modern, digital general practice and to learn how personal and involved patient care
looks like it.
Your cooperation is valuable.
During their internship, we ask for your understanding and cooperation. Your contribution helps these young doctors to learn and develop their skills.
develop so that they can provide the best possible care later on. Of course, this is always done in consultation and your well-being is paramount
forefront. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the training of future doctors and to work together on a health-
